In February 2015 we obtained detailed planning consent from Cornwall Council for the £250 million Carlyon Bay development project.
We aim to create a top-quality, mixed-use community which will include a range of 511 residential homes and holiday accommodation alongside a small selection of shops, galleries, cafes, bars and restaurants plus extensive spa and leisure facilities.
The development will be one of the biggest regeneration projects Cornwall has ever seen, transforming a dilapidated brownfield site into a holiday experience not to be forgotten. In addition to the hundreds of full-time jobs, training and skills development it will bring, it promises to help shape a bright future for St Austell.
The site was once home to the iconic music venue, the Cornwall Coliseum, which in its heyday played host to the world’s most famous names as well as festivals, radio roadshows and nightclubs. When CEG acquired the site, the building had been condemned as unsafe and had been left to fall into rack and ruin.
